Conroe Hosts Texas History Celebration

The sun is shining again, making it a great weekend for The Annual Texas Independence Day Celebration. The free celebration will take place at Heritage Place Park in Conroe on Feb. 27 from 10 a.m - 10 p.m.
The event historically has taken place at Washington on the Brazos, the location of the original signing of the Declaration of Texas on March 2, 1836. Due to COVID-19, the location was relocated.
Joy Montgomery, executive director of the Heritage Museum of Montgomery County, plans to honor the 185th anniversary with re-enactments, cannons, dance performances and historical music. A variety of food trucks will be available for the event.
Bring the family out to enjoy the sunshine and celebrate a bit of Texas history!
