Lake Creek Robotics Team Receives Invite to Esteemed Competition
April 30, 2021
The Robotics Team from Lake Creek High School (2854Y) is going to be taking their tech and their talents to the global stage. Their team qualified for the next VEX Robotics World Championships and accepted their invitation to compete in-person at the VEX Robotics Texas State competition, as well as virtually in other competitions as well.
The competition will include challenges to build a robot for a game that has been designed by the VEX Robotics Game Design Committee. This competition will allow students to employ their engineering skills to design, build, and code their robots. From there, the teams will compete via random matchups with other teams that are participating in each tournament.
These fierce competitors will spend hours of time preparing their designs and strategies while conducting thorough pre and postgame analyses. Being great at what they do is impressive, but Lake Creek Robotics Teacher Eric Moons says their true skill comes in their ability to share ideas, collaborate, and communicate through the process.
The VEX Robotics World Championship is the ultimate battle in robot design, engineering, and execution, and will take place over a week, running from Sunday, May 16th - Saturday, May 22nd.
