education

Montgomery ISD has proposed a tentative plan for reopening their schools for fall 2020-21. The district does not have plans of altering it’s traditional calendar at this time. Regularly scheduled breaks will remain in place.

Montgomery ISD schools plan on continuing with traditional instruction as well as options for virtual classroom. The district is continuing to look at remote learning options for safety concerns of students who prefer virtual to face-to face instruction. Students opting for virtual learning can expect the same rigorous academics with a required 420 minute school day.

At this time, the state is not mandating face masks for students and personnel. In accordance, MISD will not be asking students to wear face masks. The district will increase sanitation measures, space out student desks and encourage social distancing.

The district is still waiting for guidelines from the state on transportation. MISD has 74 district buses, but are currently restrict to 15 students.

Montgomery ISD is excited to have their students back on campus. Until then, enjoy your summer!
