Optional Masks and Facial Coverings for the 2021-2022 School Years
May 14, 2021
To prepare for a more normalized school year in the coming 2021-2022 academic year, the MISD Board of Trustees is making the use of facial coverings and masks optional.
This was decided in the MISD Board of Trustees board meeting this past March and will go into effect on May 31st, 2021.
The Board said they will continue to monitor the COVID-19 conditions, and seek the advice of public health officials. Keep in mind that these decisions are subject to change, but we are all encouraged by the improving rates as individuals and families in the community and the state continue to get vaccinated.
The board also extended their thanks to their students, families, and the community for their patience during these trying and uncertain times. They are proud of the hard work and determination their students and staff have shown this year and will continue to provide updates on the health and health protocols of MISD, throughout the 2021-2022 school year.
