Lake Creek Duo Leads Houston area at State Meet

Carter Gordy (Junior) and Emma Little (Senior) have established themselves as the dynamic duo of Lake Creek. Both runners had outstanding individual performances at the UIL State Cross Country Championships last week at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock.
Emma Little, the Region III-5A champion and three-time state qualifier finished 17th out of 152 runners in the 5,000 meter. This has been a substantial improvement from her sophomore and junior year performances where she finished in 72nd and 30th place, respectively.
Over the course of her senior year, she has worked her way to becoming one of the top-performing female athletes from the Houston area.
The two-time state qualifier Carter Gordy led the pack for the Houston area boys races. He was able to clinch the 12th place finish out of 152 runners for the second season in a row, with a time of 15 minutes and 33.7 seconds.
All around, these students as well as many others shined for Houston area athletics. We are looking forward to seeing what these tremendous student-athletes will accomplish in the future.
