Lone Star College Offers Financial Assistance For Students Impacted by COVID-19

Will more students be opting for community college due to the recent pandemic? It seems reasonable that the local community colleges will see a boost in enrollment as it is a lower cost option for many families hit financially in recent months. As four-year colleges are opting for online classes, student’s who were prepared to attend may consider attending a community college until their original institutions are offering less restrictive options.

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act is offering financial assistance this fall to students impacted by COVID-19. Students enrolled in an approved degree program and meeting academic standards can be eligible for the funding that assists with food, housing, course materials, technology, health care and child care.
